一体どんなテストをしてどのように合格したのか、が全く記述されていないが、こういう事実だけが一人歩きしてアメリカのメディアで取り扱われるケースは過去にも見ている。 

民間市場は、公共事業が「合格印」を押すもの、特に国防省がOKというものには非常に弱い。

もちろん、それなりの条件を満たしたからこそ合格なんだろうけど、公共と民間とでは使い方が違うので必ずしも無条件で民間でも問題なく通用する、という考え方は無理があるのでは、と感じるが、どうも世の中そう動いていないようだ。

EC2 and S3 web services successfully pass the secure Cloud Computing test during trials.

The United States Department of Defense’s (DoD) march towards Cloud Computing adoption has taken a further step forward this week, with confirmation that a commercially available Infrastructure as a Platform (IaaS) would meet with Department of the Navy standards for “global connectivity, server failover, and application access.”
